Both were introduced in the 2026 session and deferred to 2027. Until a law passes, utilities can require interconnection review, permits or fees. - Per-outlet limits: most state plug-in solar laws cap a system at 800 W or 1,200 W per circuit. A 15 A, 120 V circuit carries 1,800 W, or 1,440 W at the 80% continuous-load rule. Missouri's cap is not set. Use one kit per circuit, plugged directly into a wall outlet. - Rates used: Ameren Missouri Residential Anytime, effective June 1, 2025: summer (June to September) 15.60¢/kWh; winter 10.62¢/kWh for the first 750 kWh and 7.14¢/kWh above, before riders and taxes. - Exported power: without a net-metering agreement, power the home does not use is not credited, so savings come from power used at the time it is produced. - Typical result: one 800 W kit hung vertically on a south-facing wall saves roughly $80 to $120 a year in St. Louis. - Safety: use UL-listed kits (UL 3700 for plug-in systems; UL 1741 inverters that shut off when the grid goes down). No extension cords or power strips. - Reservations: through the form on https://www.moglia.xyz/plug-in-solar/, delivered to joe@moglia.xyz.
